Augmented Reality is becoming ‘reality’ now with more advancements and work going on in this field of technology. The latest one is a digital mirror that will show you what you’ll look like if you apply makeup without actually applying it on your skin. According to Springwise the cosmetics company L’Oréal will be trying out the digital mirrors in the UK this summer.

“Customers snap a digital self-portrait using the mirror’s camera. They can then scan a product’s barcode to see it ‘applied’ to their self-portait, using the system’s touchscreen interface to select different colours or get recommendations for shades or products that match their skin tone or eye colour,” explains Springwise.

Do you think the “try before buy” option can become a successful way of marketing products in near future?
