US State Decides Digital Adverts on Number Plates
We’re familiar with several types of advertisements but I’m sure you wouldn’t have seen digital advertisements on vehicle number plates. The US State of California is looking to allow “advert-broadcasting digital number plates on vehicles, in a bid to raise revenue for the cash-strapped state,” reports the BBC.
The legislation would allow the state Department of Motor Vehicles to develop a program enabling number plates on the rear of vehicles to be converted into digital message boards. “Drivers could select messages to display and could earn rewards from advertisers that pay the state.”
This could be good source of income in the recession. Would you like to have a digital advertisement on your vehicle’s number plate? Or do you think this digital advertising would be too distracting for other drivers?
