What is toner cartridge yield?

Yield is the amount of pages the cartridges is likely to produce at a standard 5% coverage. For example, if the cartridge description tells you that it has a page yield of 2,000 pages, then this means that that cartridge is likely to produce 2,000 pages at 5% coverage. Obviously if you are printing lots of photo then you would be printing at higher % coverage, meaning your page yield is likely to decrease. The yield description advises you when buying your cartridge, so you know roughly how long that cartridge will last.
