Google is hoping to enter the online gaming market by investing a $100 million into gaming giant,  Zynga. Zynga in the creator of the extremely popular (and annoying) Facebook game, Farmville. This company has an estimated 237 million players each month, bringing in a revenue of $350 million this year already -  it’s  no wonder that Google want to get a piece of the action too. Neither company are talking about this investment at the moment but rumours are rife and it is believed that Zynga will “serve as the foundation for the entire platform, which gives Google quick access to instant popularity in regards to the games it’ll be able to deliver to its users” says PC Mag.com.

Let’s just hope that Google know better than to invest in another Farmville-esq game.
