Sharp Unveils Two Glasses-free 3D Handsets 01

We knew it was coming, didn’t we? The Japanese mobile phone and electronics manufacturer, Sharp, is going to launch a couple of glasses-free 3D mobile phones running Android 2.2 on top of a 1GHz Snapdragon processor.

Dubbed as Galapagos 003SH and 005SH, both handsets sport a 3.8-inch 3D-capable display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. The 005SH features a full QWERTY keyboard and an 8-megapixel camera while 003SH has a 9.6 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p video but no full QWERTY keyboard. (more…)

The First Tablet with Windows and Android Dual-Booting

As expected, the flood of tablets is here. The latest company to jump on to the bandwagon is ViewSonic with the first dual-booting tablet called ViewPad.

The new tablets from ViewSonic are available in 7in and 10in versions and boast Windows 7 and Android 1.6 dual-booting. They also feature LED capacitive touchscreens. (more…)

Gmail for iPad Updated with Stacked Cards

Google has been active lately to add more features to Gmail as it integrated tasks and enhanced contacts for Gmail last week. The Mountain View has now refreshed the iPad version of Gmail with a stacked card interface for selecting and managing multiple conversations.

Google Nexus One

Despite getting the much deserved media hype, Google’s smartphone Nexus One failed to receive the same amount of success as the iPhone had achieved and sold only 135,000 of the Android-based phones compared to 1 million iPhones sold during the same duration. Now, Google is discontinuing the Nexus One. On July 16, the company announced that it received its final order from the phone’s Taiwanese manufacturer, HTC. (more…)

Android gives developers more freedom and room for creativity in developing cool and useful free apps – it is obvious to tell that the Android apps market is trying to catch up with the iPhone app store fast. However, the lack of strict guidelines and monitoring system is also leading to a flood of Android apps popping up every day, meaning that some of them don’t meet the high standard you’d expect. This then makes the choice of cho0sing quality, free Android apps even more difficult.

On the other hand, the healthy competition in the Android smartphone has meant we are constantly bombarded with newer versions and we are on the tip of technology at all times. With so many photo editing apps out there, it is important to get a high quality and free Android app,  so that you make full use of your phone’s camera. (more…)
