3D printing is not something we haven’t seen before. We have told you about some expensive 3D printers, like a $40,000 (£25,000) 3D printer and HP’s £13,000 3D Printer, and a 3D pen that could draw prototypes in 3D, but none of that could match the Urbee Hybrid, the first ever car to have its entire body, including its glass panel prototypes, 3D printed with an additive manufacturing process. Minority Report – good or bad film? The debate will rage for years I am sure. I however, quite like it. Set in the future with Pre-Cogs who are humans born with the ability to see into the future (think Alice Cullen from Twilight but less sparkly and with less hair) and can see murders before they happen. To add to this intriguing idea, the film is set around some amazing future technology that’s not just for the future. Wait, what?
That’s right, some of the technology shown in Minority Report isn’t too far off. Such as:
A number of car manufacturers have been developing driverless cars, using GPS and built in sensors to help navigate the car. Top gear even took one (or got taken) for a spin around their test track, (as well as disastrously trying to parallel park – although, that was down to human error). Though driving vertically is a little way off yet.
For the love of god, why do they have to look like coffin-bobsleighs?!
